Add lightweight images

Prepare an image for its display size, then add it to the media library.

Before uploading Remove unnecessary dimensions and compress the image. A website image does not need an original file thousands of pixels wide. WebP works well for the screenshots and photos used on this showcase.

In Aries

1. Upload the file to the media library.
2. Give it a useful description.
3. Select it in an Image, Card or Hero block.
4. Check the crop and focal point on a phone.

The description explains the image to people who cannot see it. Avoid simply repeating the filename.

Before deleting media, check where it is used in content and settings. Keep a backup before a major cleanup.
