Install Aries

Aries runs on Apache hosting with PHP 8.2 or newer. No SQL database is needed.

Before uploading Check HTTPS, Apache rewriting and the JSON, Session, Fileinfo, ZIP and OpenSSL extensions. PHP needs write access to the installation directories.

Install

1. Extract the installation ZIP.
2. Upload the contents of www into an empty public directory. Include every .htaccess file.
3. Open your-domain.com/admin/install.php.
4. Enter the site name, full HTTPS address, your name and your email.
5. Choose a password of at least 12 characters and complete the installer.

In a subdirectory For a site in /aries, enter an address such as https://your-domain.com/aries. Then check pages, images and menus.

For an existing website, start with a test copy and a backup. Do not overwrite its data with a fresh installation.
